A caption that fits a wide video can become awkward when the same clip turns vertical. Lont’s Overtone stores words and timings once, then creates separate line cuts for each screen shape, keeping names together and respecting speakers and pauses.

Its AI pipeline compares speech engines and uses an LLM to review disputed words; timestamps come from the speech engines. Existing SRT or WebVTT subtitles can be re-cut offline without AI calls.

The public demo compares layouts. New transcription needs local models or billed cloud providers; uncertain edits still need listening. Full language-specific cutting rules currently cover English and Dutch.
