Browse YouTube videos people recommended to one another, with thumbnails taken from the middle of each video. Andrej Karpathy’s HackerTube turns years of Hacker News comments into a small, searchable video collection.

In his October 31 build account, Karpathy says Claude Opus 5.5 built the app and used Sonnet to filter recommendations into 6,454 videos across 150 topics. Preferences stay in the browser, without an account.

The videos still come from YouTube; this is a different discovery interface, not a new hosting service or a guarantee of reliable content. Readers have also reported mobile layout and export-link bugs.
