Can a small predictor guess your “random” numbers? lab.specr.net

Pick numbers from 1 to 9 as unpredictably as you can. Before each choice, the house seals its guess. After ten warm-up picks, the score starts counting.

Shaun Pedicini's How Random Are You? runs ten small predictors in parallel and puts more trust in whichever has been right lately. They look for repeated sequences, steps up and down, and numbers you have neglected. That last habit is a useful trap: trying to make a sequence feel balanced can make the next choice easier to predict.

This is an interactive statistical-learning experiment, with its workings explained underneath. You can speak your choices or switch to typing mode. Try a natural sequence first, then see what changes when you deliberately try to beat it.
