An unpublished novel has become an ongoing screen drama. A. Cole / Urban Novel Studios adapts a story written in 2004 into The Way It Is, following Adrianna Jackson and the overlapping family and public pressures of West Haven.

The human-authored story uses AI-generated visuals and voices. Episode 9, released October 24, runs 28½ minutes and follows a police chief facing demands for accountability while relationships unravel around him.

An interesting example of sustained storytelling: viewers are debating characters’ decisions and waiting for the next episode.
