Prospero: a native AI coding app that keeps long-running jobs in view nullprogram.com

A coding agent can time out while the build it started keeps running. Chris Wellons’s Prospero makes that a visible background task instead of treating it as a stopped command. Its design also keeps a command’s process tree together when stopping it.

The native C++ app uses dockable panes for conversations, plans and jobs, and stops redrawing when idle. Wellons introduced it on October 31; the free Community Edition has public source and downloadable builds.

You supply a local model or API provider; a Claude subscription does not connect directly. Bundled remote-deployment engines belong to the paid edition. Its permission prompts are not a security sandbox.
